I had the pleasure of being invited to ride a hot air balloon last week. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity and I jumped at chance. Though I once envisioned this experience a bit on the romantic side who knows if I’ll get another go at it. The entire ordeal made me think of HOT AIR…
In order to get the balloon in the air there is a high powered fan that blows air inside of it until it’s just about fully expanded. Then there are several burst of fire that helps the balloon and attached basket stand completely upright. In order to fly in the air it took heat, hot air. To move we needed the flames, the hot air. As we were some 12-hundred feet in the air that heat though extremely hot kept us there. I think it applies very well to life when you are pressured, when you are under fire and feeling the heat you move. You make changes, you become uncomfortable and begin to reshape yourself into the person you are becoming and that takes heat. The fire takes you into the next level. The next height. The higher you ascend the more heat is required. The catch is you can’t steer a hot air balloon. The heat is applied and you have to let go and float. Don’t fight the heat, it’s necessary to get to the next level…HOT AIR.

Tip: Get comfortable with being uncomfortable. It’s the best time to learn. It’s also a great time to prepare for the next level that God is moving you toward.
