The water cooler subject, something everyone is is talking about. And because everyone is you do too. Nothing terribly wrong with that in my opinion unless it’s negative. A trending topic, is a headline story being spread like wildfire. It’s gossip. Did you hear, did you know, did you see? Oh, you gotta listen to this, you have to watch the video. “Shares”, “likes”, “double clicks”, we are guilty of making and keeping something “trendy”. What often surprises me is what becomes trendy. How is it a TRENDING TOPIC?

Today’s trending topic is Mr. Jesse Williams and his epic acceptance speech at the BET Awards Sunday. Some people knew his stance on injustice and political activism others, well they found out, perhaps at the water cooler. I think this subject is worth the attention. My question is will the seed that he planted mean anything to those exposed to the ground in which he planted it? What will we do? What now? I’m not really sure the baby boomers are passing the torch or baton, it’s up to us to take it by force. The same way we have to take our lives and the future of this country, by force. What really happens now and how long will this be a TRENDING TOPIC…for you?

“It’s kinda basic mathematics. The more we learn about who we are and how we got here, the more we will mobilize.”
