No matter who you are there are just certain things you cannot change or alter. It just is what it is. The life you have is what’s been offered to you, every bit of it. Making the most of it and embracing it is freeing. Consenting to receive all that life brings is…ACCEPTANCE.
I have been praying for a clear face since I was a teenager. I have adult acne. You name it I tried it over the years. Water, drink plenty of water, check. Go to the dermatologist, try Proactive, Accutane, tetracycline, etc, check. Wash your face with this, try this mask, get facials, sit in the sauna, steam your face to get the toxins out. Stay away from fried foods, exercise, get plenty of rest blah, blah, blah, check. I’ve tried it all. Last summer I went on a fast and afterwards I just stopped eating meat. I found out how much chicken and meat products are pumped with hormones and steroids to grow and produce at faster speeds. I realized my face clearly up, NO PIMPLES! For the most part. Hormones which is what I had been saying for years I believe is the cause. And occasional stress.
FUNNY thing is I’ve been intently looking at my face the last few days. I have a spider bite scar, a gash from a childhood fight, moles, chickenpox marks and freckles…I’ll never have a blemish free face! It hit me, all this time I have been obsessing over my face and it has marks on it that will never go away. It affected me all these years, my confidence, self-love, even the guys I dated. And it was like a light bulb went off, an awakening of sorts. I felt like the pressure of trying to be perfect left. I didn’t think I was beautiful without enhancement. Without a bit of coverage. Without make-up. I had scars and marks. BUT I AM BEAUTIFUL. AND I officially accept the fact that my face will not be free of marks. My marks are unique and as lovely as I am on the inside…simply beautiful. I fully embrace who I am at the core of my soul and every inch, flaw, imperfection inside and out…ACCEPTANCE.

Tip: Self acceptance is freedom. Free yourself. You are uniquely and wonderfully made. Be proud of who you are inside and out, don’t let it hinder you.
