I had the pleasure of visiting this island for a day on a cruise. Quintessential Caribbean island with a French (Saint Martin) + Dutch (Sint Maarten) side. Philipsburg, Sint Maarten on the Dutch side of the country. Really nice people, beautiful country.

You have to visit Maho Beach, Sint Maarten. Some 24-miles from Philipsburg this small beach is known for its proximity to the airport runway. The planes pretty much land right on the beach. It’s so cool. TIP: Ride a local van from Philipsburg it’s super cheap, paid $7 total that’s with a small tip. Locals get on + off like a bus but for a 50-mile round trip ride with beautiful views I’ll take it.
